Talitha Kumi participates in PalMUN in Ramallah

On January 24-26, 2019 Talitha Kumi’s MUN team participated with 11 students from classes 9 and 10, both from Tawjihi and DIA stream in the PalMUN in Ramallah. They were accompanied by three advisors: Sana Abu Amsha, Laura Bishara and Kirsten Weible.

The conference was held at the Friends school and was titled “Reconciliation through Negotiation”. The team arrived in Ramallah on the 24th of January full of excitement and enthusiasm to start the conference. Talitha Kumi students showed commitment, responsibility and excellent debating skills, expressing their opinions in their respective committees. In the General Assembly the situation in Venezuela was being discussed while at the UNHRC delegates were trying to find solutions for the human rights situation in Yemen.

The students worked really hard in the course of the three-day conference and thus two of our students, Carlos Sarras and Meryl Mukarker, were rewarded with “honorable mentions” certificates,  which is a great achievement for them and for Talitha Kumi.

The prestigious PalMUN conference is full of experienced delegates, nevertheless our students could keep up, showing how well-trained and qualified they are.
